I just can't stop painting fabric. Today I made some leaf fabric, lots of greens and burnt sienna.

I also started to work on my big chicken. I love chickens. He was a steal. He was so chipped, so I got him for a song and a dance. Now he's all patched here.

And all basecoated here, ready to paint some wild rooster colors. I can't wait..oh where does the day go....

Sunday

I painted fabrics all day today. These are the light one. I love those..then I decided to do some darker and stranger ones .

Since I haven't yet invested in dryer racks. I will wait on those to see if I like doing this a lot. for now I just cover a large board with thick plastic and lay them all over my studio floor to dry. Same difference.

Here is the start of it. I mix a quarter's worth or a little more with water to make approximately 1 1/2 oz. of thinned paint. Then I squirt these out and apply with a huge Alexander brush. You can paint forever until you are satisfied. I would like to thank Melody Johnson, who has so graciously helped me to do my posts right lol...thank you Melody, you're a good woman.

Still Practicing

This is my trusty tortilla maker. I love tortillas. This little gem will flatten the tortilla and then bake it.
Above is my yard after the storm. All the flowers fell off the rain tree. The yards looks royal lol. Well I figure out how to make the text up and down but still haven't figured out how to type between the pics. Well I'm patient, maybe someone will give me a tip or on my next read, I'll be abe to figure it ou.

Saturday

I decided to paint a couple fabric pieces today even though it was a bit chilly outside. I figured it's paint so it won't matter.
This is where I'm going to paint my fabric. I'm going to use some leaves and I have them soaking in the bucket. Well this was great fun. Here it is inside now. I don't have any racks so a plastic 0n a board on two chairs will have to do. Oh goody, goody I have managed to post two pics for one post but they are not in a row. Oh lord, I will have to do some more figuring out. Anyway, here is the other fabric. It will be interesting to see where this pic goes lol.

Additon to quilt

Today I made 23 more blocks for my christmas quilt. Soon soon it will be done and I will post it. Nothing evenful happened yesterday except I happened to tune in to Marth's show. I usually don't watch daytime tv but I'm so glad I did. It's good to have Martha back. She was missed. I will try to watch her daily for support. We must support our sister in craft.

Here is a pic of my hot hearts from a quilt I made...

Continue hurrican day

I don't know how to add to my post yet so I'm just writing another one...here are some pics of the fabric I painted..... http://groups.msn.com/RosysFolkArt/_whatsnew.msnw

Hurricane Day

What can one do during a hurricane? oh one paints fabric. I decided to get rid of a group of paints before their time ran out. It's a real nice paint line a chroma guache line with no sealer in it. I decided to sit on the floor and put all the like colors in jars, so I would know what I had to work with. As I was pouring the paints into jars my rubber gloves would get quite messy. Instead of washing, I would just add a little water and wipe it all over a piece of fabric I had on the table ready for painting. This would go on for a while and then I would have to stop and go finish painting the fabric. I did this until 7 pieces were painted. Here is a pic of the paints all over the floor and then two of the fabrics I painted....

My Shelf

Today was a good day. I made a shelf to hold my router. I needed to have the signal go to the other side of the house and it wasn't doing it so by putting it on the shelf and aiming the antennas through the kitchen windows made it work. I wasn't too happy with the way the shelf look with the wires exposed down the wall so I improvised. I took a painting on mat board that a fellow painter painted for me. I iron some wonder under behind some pretty fabric and ironed it onto the painting to look like it was matted. Then I velcroed it to the wall to hide the wires. On the front of the brace for the shelf, I ironed fabric on cardboard and velcroed that to the brace. I used some thanksgiving fabric for the season. I then hung some cute things there. I could still see some wire on the top of the shelf behind the router so I put one one my painted wooden heads and a ceramic rooster I had painted some time ago. I like it now.

Christmas Quilt.. Posted by Picasa

Second Post

Oh it's Friday and I still haven't got it together. I had hoped to get right into the swing of things and have lots of stuff to show you. Well I'll search around and see. I am still setting up the studio and re-arranging and getting rid of excess. I need more room for my new hobby. Here is a pic of my Christmas quilt that I'm working on now and then between the other stuff.
