I finished my block for May. It's called, "Borrow and Lend.

This is what my design board looks like right now. All week I've been making blocks and just putting them on the board. So far I have made 3 Sue's, 8 challenge blocks and 11 crazy blocks.....wheeee that was fun. I think my fit is over and now I need to go finish the doll I started three weeks ago.

I decide to make some fish crazies. I made this block with 4 dryer sheets. It will be the middle of the quilt and little one dryer sheet blocks will surround it and then the cat blocks will surround those...I wonder if I can find some mice too....this is called a black angel, I think.
Don't know which one this is but it's a pretty fish....

Another pretty fish....

And more...

Last one, don't know what these are either....but I like...notice that I've use a certain remant in each one...that was a leftover piece of crazy border from the butterfly quilt. I'm putting it in all the fish ones until it gone.....

Almost forgot to post the meat pies I made tonight. I forgot I had these real cute tart pans. I made the individual meat pies in them....

Here are all my crazy blocks so far. I just have them thrown together to see what they are looking like...this is my third crazy quilt out of my scraps. I still have more to make and these are really fun. I go on a scavenger hunt to see what interesting thing I can find to put in the middle of each block. So far it's fish, cat and hand painted fabric. I think I need to add some dogs and bears etc.

Ahhhh, two more blocks. I'm all caught up with my cyber challenge. Just one more block to go and I have all month to do it. This is Wedding Cake.

And this is Star and Pinwheels...

I have joined the Sue challenge lol...here are my two Sue's so far but first as I am quilting away, I go to check on hubby. Here they are sound asleep. Molly has her two back legs on his chest..how cute....talk about relax...

This is a 1930 pattern of Sue and I made her with Aunt Gracie fabric.
This is just a regular Sue.

I'm using a red toil floral for the backgrounds. I am making any size and will add alternate blocks to make it different. All the Sue's will be different. I have a huge collection of Sue's.

The Sue's are faced with used dryer sheets. I also use those for my crazy blocks and any foundation piecing. I trace the parts onto the dryer sheet, then sew those together with the fabric pieces, make a slash in the dryer sheet and gently turn right side out. I then spray starch and press and use a blanket stitch to applique to background. This gives aclean edge and the dryer sheets are free and carry no weight..

I had a nice mother's day weekend. I sewed all weekend and made 7 crazy blocks, 5 traditional blocks for the challenge and Two Sue's for the new challenge. Son came by bearing gifts and took us out to dinner which didn't happen. The wait was two hours...well back to leftover lol....

I have joined a wonderful quilt group in cyber, at the Fons and Porter website and we are doing a, "quilt along" challenge. Here are some of the blocks that we have made so far. Each month you are told where to go to get the block. They are all going to be 12 inch blocks.

This one is a crazy that I threw in while playing catchup..just using my scraps.

This is another of my crazies....notice the cat behind the fish...I have this wierd sense ...hahahah
Ok this is block number 3..Flies in the barn. I don't have them in order. I am doing all this out of my scap bin. The bin is actually going down. I have already made three quilts out of it....and still going.

This one is Clays Choice....#1. I am just keeping the background the same to tie all the blocks together in the end.

This is Annie's Choice....#2

#4 is Silver Lane...

#5 is
Blazing Arrows. I have put it together wrong but it will stay that way lol...I have designed a new block lol.....

I have three more blocks to make to get caught up and I will do those tomorrow. All the while I'm whipping out crazies...I have done8 crazies today, besides the three for the challenge...this is Mother's day weekend and I'm doing what I want.
On the crazy block. I am putting in a center focus, like a cat a fish or a piece of hand painted fabric and then work around that ....
