A PURSE FOR A NURSE

I saw this real cute fabric a few weeks ago and couldn't resist getting it and making a bag of some sort as I know of a deserving nurse.
In the first pic is the stiffening, the fabric which comes 12 nurses to a panel and the lining and coordinating fabric.

In the bottom half of the pic. I have added strips of coordinationg fabric all around the four block panel and this will be the depth of the bag. I am making it envelope style. I made two panels and ironed the stiffening onto the backs

In top half of this pic, I have made the handles with the stiffening and added the CF to the top of the lining. I added strips to exta nurses for the inside pockets and lined them. I sewed those on the lining.
In the bottom half, I have sewed the handles on.

I sewed the sides up and did the same for the lining and then sewed those together right sides etc. I then ironed the shape of the bottom and sides and they will stay like that permantely .

Hi and good morning. I did some fun stuff last night. I made some doll body jewelry. If you do any of the Patti Medaris Culea dolls, http://www.pmcdesigns.com/ you will see that she puts lots of jewelry or beading on some of her dolls. I love the beaded dolls but I am lazy ok? lol. Thank goodness I paint and have access to many wonderful products. I will show you the lazy and fun way to make some body jewelry for your dolls. I used "DecoAmericana" products. Here is a link for lots of information. http://decoart.com/ I used: Fashion Sequins (comes in about 14 beautiful pastel colors), Craft Twinkles, Craft Twinkles Writer, Fashion beadz, Diamond dust, So Soft Dementional Glitter Writer, Glittering Topcoat (for fabric), Paper Perfect Accents, Starlight Topcoat (for hard surfaces) Tripple Thick Brilliant Gloss Glaze (for wood). Plastic palette knife, corsage pin, flat fabric brush.

Now bear in mind that I have a lot of product in front of me and I just grab and do. I will tell you what I used in each design as we go along. I will try to remember lol.

Lay a piece of scrap muslim on freezer paper or a piece of plastic. We are ready to design. Take one of the CTW (craft twinkles writer), Sometimes I make an outline on the muslim and sometimes I don't. Here I used the silver and just made an outline freehand. I would then plop with a Plastic palette knife) different colors of the some FB (fashion beadz), then I would add some plops of CTW or CT. Take the corsage pin or straight pin and kinda guide it where you want it to go.

On this board to the bottom left is a stencil of a heat that I filled with blue fashion beadz. Besides that is a star of beadz and a small green heart above. The brooch type tingy is just FB plopped down and CT and CTW. I didn't outline this one fist. I just added some outside lines after.

On this board, I cut out some stencils of circles out of the thin foam you can get at Michaels and filled them with FB and then used the So Soft Glitter Writer around it. All the other are the same deal ..FB, CT, DTW.

Here is a close up of one. You can see the beads packed in. I would sprinkle some diamond dust on top.

I really like this one. The pic doesn't do it justice. After I gaudied it up real good, I sprinkled some of glittery stuff that comes from the DecoArt, Paper Perfect line, diamond dust too. This one has a lot of beads too.

I was beginning to like outlining, It allowed me to do just about anything funky.

This one is really going to look great on the dolls leg or arm. Like a tattoo. This one was outlined in CTW black then in SS Glitter Writer. The entire inside was filled with CT and CTW and a few beads. It will take 24 house to dry and about three day to totally cure as they are real thick. I have them out in the sun right now. You can then cut around them and glue the hem in the back or just wait until you are ready to use them and sew them or on and tuck the hem in. You can use these emblishments on the body, or clothing or the hair or they can be worn on the forehead like a flapper. But don't stop there. Put them on purses, art quilts etc.

These are pigion wooden eggs cut in half. I put a drop of the Fashion Sequins Writer in the middle and added other colors and just let it move to where it wanted. Every now and then I would take the pin and go around the bottom to remove the excess and slide it on a clean piece of freezer paper. I only had to do it twice. It has an opal look to it doesn't it? I added the accents and diamond dust. Then I did the other one more gaudy lol....dry at least 24 hour. I coated these with the StarLight topcoat and then with the Tripple Thick Brilliant Glaze.

Ok, two blogs today. I have relented and will tell you where to get the yarn ahahahhaha. This is a bad picture of the next project. The Goblin princess...she sits there with a crochet gown and some gouls.....but she is lovely nevertheless....I think PMC is my favorite designer in dolls.

Here is a not so good pic of the little goul that will sit on her staff. He is very white right now so You can't see him too well. I use a styrofoam ball, sculpted it and added a wee nose and then covered it in muslin and shaped and brushed with a sealer all over.

And then I has so much fun and I found this huge styrofoam in my stuff and decided to make a bigger goul and you can see him much better. He is all carved out and covered and waiting for some slime green.. puke, puke. Isn't he just too ugly? I will crochet some slime around him and toss him at her feet. He will eat anything that gets near her hahahahahah.

Here is my yarn sale and I got it at Michaels.

And then I bought these lovely cherries at the grocers and I can't eat them unless I cook them and not with too much sugar.....so I added one cup of sugar and one pouch of that jam making stuff and it is delicious.....

Roxanne is finally done. I got sidetracked with Percy. You remember Roxanne is a Patti Madaris Culea design and I was working on her some time ago. Here is the full length view of her. Notice the rings on her fingers. Savoroski (spell) crystal, no less. The baubbles hanging from her waist are handed painted beads that I had painted when I was in the wooden bead painting fit, remember? On her dress, I put some of the Fashion beadz from the Deco Art line. I love that stuff. You just smear it on, the glue dries clear and you have all these lovely beads.

Here is a close up. Observe the necklace that I made her, as you know I have enough beads to open a store lol. The hair was a find. This lovely yarn comes from Italy. It is a mix of 75% wool,22% acrylic and 3% poly. Just the right mix. It sold for 6 bucks for 1.76 oz. (50g) I got in on sale for 2.00. I bought it in a bunch of colors and I'm not telling you because the last time I told you about the zodiac fabric, you all rushed out and bought every yard and then I couldn't get anymore of it...I will tell you where it is after I decide if I want more first ahhahahahahah....I unraveled some of the strands in the front to give her a wind blown look. Notice the white goul behing Roxanne? He will be a prop with my next project, "the goblin Princiss" also a pattern by Patti.

Here is a back view. Check out the Seminole Indian chief "Micanopy". The little town of 700 that hubby and visited a week ago was named after him.

Today is my happy 36th anniversary. As usual I celebrate by doing a project that I love hahahha, days in advance. I have been happily working making a clown doll, pattern by Elinor Peace Baily. His name is Percy. Here is Percy, body done, all wired and face painted. Oh! he is naked hahahahahah. Everything on Percy is hand sewed or machine sewed or hand painted. All fabric clothing except for his coat is quilter's designer fabric.

His coat is made of hand painted fabric and so are the pockets and patches, they are emblemished with dimentional paint by Deco Art's fabric line. Here is a close-up of the patches and the coat.

Here is Percy with his hat done with fused on appliqued flowers and leaves and emblemished with Deco Art fabric writers.

Here is a close-up of Percy's face and hair. His face is hand painted and his hair is all hand painted fabric strips. Percy's cheecks are emblemished with "fashion beadz" also by Deco Art. All you do is smear them on, no sewing involved, great stuff and so pretty.

Here he is full size all 43 or 44 inches of him.

This is his permanent place for the moment...he is chatting up a storm with the bear.....
