I've been away too long from my blog. Well some new stuff today, not that I have given up on the fabric or anything. I am multitasking, yeh right!! Anyway, I have been collecting beads for a while now (crafty yukno, check profile) and I thought I'd give you a glimpse of my new hobby, well small hobby, just like knitting is a smally and ceramics. Fabric painting now has graduated to medium and no one knows what fabric dyeing is going to be yet. So far quilting and painting are still the reigning biggies...here is a pic of 100 yard of painted fabric. I still have to wash and iron. I will offer a few sets for sale.

Here is a pic of the new hobby...beads and findings and ohhhhh so much money spent...oh well...

Here is a closeup of some red venetian glass that I'v had for many years. Some Turquoise and glass beads and fresh water pearls even.

These are all semi-precious stones and some glass etc..

More seed beads and beads....

And tools of course....

The canvas from yesterday...
The wind is blowing, the sun is out, it's hot! I'm going to paint some more fabric. I arrange all the color groups together. This is going to get used up within the next two days. Looks like a mess doesn't it?

I always save mayo jar covers. I use them for everything. In this case each one has a shade of blue. one white and a purple. I mix a little water in, not much as I'm blending the colors together. I'm going to do a blue piece with purple accents.. These are the shimmering pearls form the Deco Americana line of fabric paints.

I am using muslin. I wet it down and put the first shade of blue on and some white...

Then I add the other two and blend..this is a rough view...

I painted 10 yards today...gosh I have to go digging. I am using every piece of cotten and muslim that I can find. Here is the wire rack they go on fist..

Then they graduate to the line and the back fence from the line. I painted a black one. Why is it that I can't leave black alone? I have to put accents of color on it. It's still black but with accents. Even though I know black contains all the colors, I still have to see it lol..... These don't have to be ironed or heat set. They are finshed when they are dry. I heaped lots of gold sparkle on them while they were still wet. Needless to say, I'm all sparkly now, even after my shower. There's not much paint left. I hope I can find some more muslim or plain cotten tomorrow.

This is a big ugly cement frog that somebody threw out. I have had him for a year I think. Hubby thought it would be cute to put him on my painting tables to get my attention. He said that maybe I could give him a touch up and make him pretty like the fabric...so I said ok. I have cleaned him and tomorrow I will patch him up and then I will make him pretty.

Today was another fine day to paint fabric. This is an unprimed canvas again and I decided to use the fabric sparkle paints for this project. The paints are Deco Americana shimmering pearls. I wet the canvas down and then I poured gold all over it and brushed it out. Some of the canvas is hanging down, I should have joined the tables ..Too late...

Then I took some orange, red, fushia and made some arcs and stuff..

Now what?

Ok, let do this.. make some black thingys...I think I'm going for a universe look....

More thingys...

I then added more color around the thingy and defused them with more gold and other colors and misting as I needed it. It was getting dark so I brought it inside and layed it on my studio floor. I put lots of gold and sheer glitter all over it. This photo doesn't do it justice. Tomorrow I'll take a pic outside and repost.

I have been painting for days. I think I've painted about 60 yard of fabric so far and I'm not done yet. I have very little paint left in this line that I wanted to finish out. Here is a pic of the set up. I had yards and yards of a light teal cotten. I ripped it into one yard pieces and placed one on top of the other and wet them down. Not a whole lot of that paint left.

I then pour most of my favorite majenta into a styrofoam container and mix with water and start brushing it on here and there. Then I add 0ther colors and blend them as I go. I use a 2 1/2 inch canvas painting brush.

Here is the piece with all the colors blended. I layed in on a wire fencing so when it dries it has little squares all over it. Pretty cool.

Here is a piece I painted yesteday (on the left), line dryed and dryer on hot. I will still iron and then wash and then iron again. The highlighted areas are an irridecent paint I add on top after I finished blending. The one on the right is one I did a while back, it's still up on my board.

Here is a pic of the ones from a few days ago.

I'm sorry I don't have more pics as I'm doing it. I have gloves on and I get my hands in it and you know the rest. I am painted from head to toe. I have special clothes that I wear to paint in and I just hang them up to dry when I'm done. If you have any question, I'll be happy to answer them.
Here is a sample of a fabric paint by Deco Americana that I'm going to finish out too. I already got a new supply from them. This is a pink and purple blend with sparkle. After I finished painting the fabric, I added extra stardust.

Close-up of the stardust. Well blogger is not cooperating. I'll try again later.

Aha, it worked this time.

I'm going away tomorrow for the day or I might spent the night in Gainsville about 1 1/2 hours drive from here. My friend needs a machine and some fabrics and stuff that I can do without. I'm going to teach her Mrs Mel's technique and a few other things...so it should be a fun day I'm also taking my little baby singer along to see if her bro can rewire it for me.

Well today was a ?. So I threw an unprimed canvas 8 by 6 I think...outside on my trusty horses and old table...nice white canvas..

Then I did stuff to it.....

Oh it's looking good....

Here is a nice area...

This is just the background. When I get back I will put stuff on it. Abstract stuff. I think doors, windows, knobs, circles, points etc. I dont' know...it seems to be the in things right now...why should I be any different? lol...

I decided to paint black fabric today. Well, so I said. I couldn't find black paint so I started mixing blues and reds and browns etc. and making mud. Is it soup yet?

Here is my wonderful set-up lol. I have some well painted plastic on the table. My intention today is to burn out several of those jars of paint and be rid of them. Well I managed to use up about six of them today or more ...I lost count..

There! nice soup and it looks dark, so we shall see.....

I put up my plastic horses in the yard and put my colorful boards on them. I have been using these board to paint my fabric on and one of these days they will be master pieces. lol

Oh gee, I feel like a german house fru. I have my wet fabrics in the basket. It reminds me of my days in germany as a child. We used to take the white clothes to the (Veese spell) or just green open fields by a stream and lay the white clothes on the grass to bleach in the sun. We would wet them over and over with a watering can.

This is what came out of that dark color..sort of a med to dark mottled teal. I like it a lot. I'll wash it in a few days.

Then I found the black and decided to make chocolate brown and I did and when they dried I didn't like them so I wet them down and made a rusty brown black mottled and I like that better. I had to bring them inside and put them on the studio floor on plastic..they'll survive.

Then I just had to make some bright. So I did oranges, amethist, rose, yellow ...

Somehow blogger will not upload my last two pictures. I'll try again tomorrow.

Ok, I made the files smaller and it worked....
