Ok, two blogs today. I have relented and will tell you where to get the yarn ahahahhaha. This is a bad picture of the next project. The Goblin princess...she sits there with a crochet gown and some gouls.....but she is lovely nevertheless....I think PMC is my favorite designer in dolls.

Here is a not so good pic of the little goul that will sit on her staff. He is very white right now so You can't see him too well. I use a styrofoam ball, sculpted it and added a wee nose and then covered it in muslin and shaped and brushed with a sealer all over.

And then I has so much fun and I found this huge styrofoam in my stuff and decided to make a bigger goul and you can see him much better. He is all carved out and covered and waiting for some slime green.. puke, puke. Isn't he just too ugly? I will crochet some slime around him and toss him at her feet. He will eat anything that gets near her hahahahahah.

Here is my yarn sale and I got it at Michaels.

And then I bought these lovely cherries at the grocers and I can't eat them unless I cook them and not with too much sugar.....so I added one cup of sugar and one pouch of that jam making stuff and it is delicious.....

Roxanne is finally done. I got sidetracked with Percy. You remember Roxanne is a Patti Madaris Culea design and I was working on her some time ago. Here is the full length view of her. Notice the rings on her fingers. Savoroski (spell) crystal, no less. The baubbles hanging from her waist are handed painted beads that I had painted when I was in the wooden bead painting fit, remember? On her dress, I put some of the Fashion beadz from the Deco Art line. I love that stuff. You just smear it on, the glue dries clear and you have all these lovely beads.

Here is a close up. Observe the necklace that I made her, as you know I have enough beads to open a store lol. The hair was a find. This lovely yarn comes from Italy. It is a mix of 75% wool,22% acrylic and 3% poly. Just the right mix. It sold for 6 bucks for 1.76 oz. (50g) I got in on sale for 2.00. I bought it in a bunch of colors and I'm not telling you because the last time I told you about the zodiac fabric, you all rushed out and bought every yard and then I couldn't get anymore of it...I will tell you where it is after I decide if I want more first ahhahahahahah....I unraveled some of the strands in the front to give her a wind blown look. Notice the white goul behing Roxanne? He will be a prop with my next project, "the goblin Princiss" also a pattern by Patti.

Here is a back view. Check out the Seminole Indian chief "Micanopy". The little town of 700 that hubby and visited a week ago was named after him.

Today is my happy 36th anniversary. As usual I celebrate by doing a project that I love hahahha, days in advance. I have been happily working making a clown doll, pattern by Elinor Peace Baily. His name is Percy. Here is Percy, body done, all wired and face painted. Oh! he is naked hahahahahah. Everything on Percy is hand sewed or machine sewed or hand painted. All fabric clothing except for his coat is quilter's designer fabric.

His coat is made of hand painted fabric and so are the pockets and patches, they are emblemished with dimentional paint by Deco Art's fabric line. Here is a close-up of the patches and the coat.

Here is Percy with his hat done with fused on appliqued flowers and leaves and emblemished with Deco Art fabric writers.

Here is a close-up of Percy's face and hair. His face is hand painted and his hair is all hand painted fabric strips. Percy's cheecks are emblemished with "fashion beadz" also by Deco Art. All you do is smear them on, no sewing involved, great stuff and so pretty.

Here he is full size all 43 or 44 inches of him.

This is his permanent place for the moment...he is chatting up a storm with the bear.....

I finished my block for May. It's called, "Borrow and Lend.

This is what my design board looks like right now. All week I've been making blocks and just putting them on the board. So far I have made 3 Sue's, 8 challenge blocks and 11 crazy blocks.....wheeee that was fun. I think my fit is over and now I need to go finish the doll I started three weeks ago.

I decide to make some fish crazies. I made this block with 4 dryer sheets. It will be the middle of the quilt and little one dryer sheet blocks will surround it and then the cat blocks will surround those...I wonder if I can find some mice too....this is called a black angel, I think.
Don't know which one this is but it's a pretty fish....

Another pretty fish....

And more...

Last one, don't know what these are either....but I like...notice that I've use a certain remant in each one...that was a leftover piece of crazy border from the butterfly quilt. I'm putting it in all the fish ones until it gone.....

Almost forgot to post the meat pies I made tonight. I forgot I had these real cute tart pans. I made the individual meat pies in them....

Here are all my crazy blocks so far. I just have them thrown together to see what they are looking like...this is my third crazy quilt out of my scraps. I still have more to make and these are really fun. I go on a scavenger hunt to see what interesting thing I can find to put in the middle of each block. So far it's fish, cat and hand painted fabric. I think I need to add some dogs and bears etc.

Ahhhh, two more blocks. I'm all caught up with my cyber challenge. Just one more block to go and I have all month to do it. This is Wedding Cake.

And this is Star and Pinwheels...

I have joined the Sue challenge lol...here are my two Sue's so far but first as I am quilting away, I go to check on hubby. Here they are sound asleep. Molly has her two back legs on his chest..how cute....talk about relax...

This is a 1930 pattern of Sue and I made her with Aunt Gracie fabric.
This is just a regular Sue.

I'm using a red toil floral for the backgrounds. I am making any size and will add alternate blocks to make it different. All the Sue's will be different. I have a huge collection of Sue's.

The Sue's are faced with used dryer sheets. I also use those for my crazy blocks and any foundation piecing. I trace the parts onto the dryer sheet, then sew those together with the fabric pieces, make a slash in the dryer sheet and gently turn right side out. I then spray starch and press and use a blanket stitch to applique to background. This gives aclean edge and the dryer sheets are free and carry no weight..

I had a nice mother's day weekend. I sewed all weekend and made 7 crazy blocks, 5 traditional blocks for the challenge and Two Sue's for the new challenge. Son came by bearing gifts and took us out to dinner which didn't happen. The wait was two hours...well back to leftover lol....

I have joined a wonderful quilt group in cyber, at the Fons and Porter website and we are doing a, "quilt along" challenge. Here are some of the blocks that we have made so far. Each month you are told where to go to get the block. They are all going to be 12 inch blocks.

This one is a crazy that I threw in while playing catchup..just using my scraps.

This is another of my crazies....notice the cat behind the fish...I have this wierd sense ...hahahah
Ok this is block number 3..Flies in the barn. I don't have them in order. I am doing all this out of my scap bin. The bin is actually going down. I have already made three quilts out of it....and still going.

This one is Clays Choice....#1. I am just keeping the background the same to tie all the blocks together in the end.

This is Annie's Choice....#2

#4 is Silver Lane...

#5 is
Blazing Arrows. I have put it together wrong but it will stay that way lol...I have designed a new block lol.....

I have three more blocks to make to get caught up and I will do those tomorrow. All the while I'm whipping out crazies...I have done8 crazies today, besides the three for the challenge...this is Mother's day weekend and I'm doing what I want.
On the crazy block. I am putting in a center focus, like a cat a fish or a piece of hand painted fabric and then work around that ....

I have just come back from spending six days in Paducha Kentucky. My friend Elaine and I went to the grand quilt fest. It was great! It was so crowded the first few days, one could hardly move and I didn't care for that too much...but all in all, we were there and made do. As we entered the Expo, we were greated by this wonderful crazy quilted horse by John Flyn. Isn't he grand?

I took many pics of the wonderful quilts but will show just a few of them. Here is one of a bull that is just magnificent.

Here is another wonderful quilt.

Another....

Another..

The whole town participates in the quilt fest. Here is a huge bull in the street with a quilt on his back lol.

We bought tons of fabric. Elinor Burnes had a huge tent sale at 4.00 per yard of over 6000 bolts of fabrics. We also visited her store. After we shopped Elinor four times we went to Handcocks twice and shopped their 4.00 special for the show and then did some major damage in the regular price stuff too. I think I spent about 800.00. One lady said she spent 4000.00.

We also went to Elinor's lecture. She was soooo funny.

Here is a pic of my bags of fabric and I laid some of them out for you to see....

It took me 5 days to make up my mind to buy this 48.99 pattern by Jaqueline de Jonge. I'm sure you've seen it. I bought it on the last day of shopping. I have to make this quilt.

I also visited the booth of Laura W and said hi. There she sat surrounded by her beautiful hand dyed fabrics.

I am having such fun. I am making an art doll. Well, I call her an art doll because her face is painted and her clothing is our quilting fabric and I'm going to decorate her when she is done with beads and things.

She has an amature inside so you can pose her. In this pic I have added the body and one leg you can see part of her foot and hands on the table. Also, a pic of what she looks like when finished is in the background. If you want to see her close up and more like her, click here ...http://www.pmcdesigns.com... The artist's name is Patti Medaris Culea. I met her many years ago and bought a pattern and now many years later, I am in a fit of doll making and have ordered several. They are such fun, they call up all your creative juice. You can add to the dresses, add more bling, bling etc.
The body is ever so shapely, better than mine even lol. Knees, calves, breasts, long slender neck. A beautiful doll.

I painted the face and did very little sculpting. She is an 18 inch cloth doll. I painted the fabric that I made her face and top body out of.

Here she is so far, no arms yet. I am waiting for the special turning tools to turn the fingers. I finished her bloomers, skirt and vest so far but no adornments yet.
Here she is with some colorfull ribbon tied around her knees and waist. I will hang baubles from those. She is standing all by herself now. I have to decide on hair tomorrow and rings and things and more decorations. I will post her again when she is all finished.
